Acrylic. 20” x 20” x 1.5”
Using creative licence I have, on canvas, moved this barn from its location (between Minitonas and the entrance to Duck Mountain Provincial Forest). Following the intuitive notions of my inner mind, I have surrounded and bathed it with glorious color. This painting is a tribute to the timely structures and landmarks of the Canadian Prairies, all of which are challenged by the dynamic and sometimes foreboding weather and climate that exists. Reference images for this barn were taken in 2018 and 2019. The building continues its steady decline back to the earth.
